FlexVault, Inc. ("FlexVault," “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Delaware corporation that builds version control software and cloud storage for game teams ("Service"). This page covers what we collect through fxv.dev and our client software (any application, command-line tool, plugin, or extension we make available to access or use the Service), why we collect it, and what say you have over it.

Using our site or redeeming a storage voucher means you agree to what’s below. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. Information we collect

When you redeem a storage voucher, we collect your email address, a username you pick, the voucher code, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent string. That’s used only to activate your storage account, issue your access credentials, keep the voucher system from being abused, and reach you about your account if needed. We don’t add this email to any marketing list.

If you sign up for our newsletter through the separate, optional form on our site, we collect the email you give us for that purpose only. That list is run through our email provider, MailerLite, and you can unsubscribe any time from the link in any newsletter email.

If you contact us through the website, we collect your name, email, and message so we can respond.

Our hosting and security infrastructure, Cloudflare, automatically logs IP addresses, request metadata, and bot-verification signals through Cloudflare Turnstile as part of running the site and keeping abuse down.

If you use FlexVault to store and version your game assets, that project data (binaries, meshes, textures, and related metadata) sits with our storage provider, Tigris, on your behalf.

Our client software also caches project files and workspace metadata locally on your machine so you can work with them. That local cache stays on your device; we don’t collect or receive it unless it’s synced to the Service or you send it to us for support.

Our client software periodically checks a distribution endpoint (vault.fxv.dev) for newer versions. Like any web request, this carries your IP address and user agent string, which may appear in that endpoint’s ordinary request logs. We don’t correlate these requests with your account or otherwise use them to individually identify or track you.

2. Our commitment on your project data

We take a privacy-first stance on the game assets and project files you store with FlexVault. This commitment covers FlexVault, Inc. directly, not the infrastructure providers listed in Section 3, whose own terms govern how they handle data:

We will never sell your project data to anyone, for any reason.

We will never use your project data to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s, and we will never ingest it into a training pipeline.

We only access the contents of your stored project files for two reasons: to provide direct customer support you’ve asked for, or, on a limited, as-needed basis, to debug and maintain the system. We log that access. We don’t browse, mine, or otherwise look through your files outside of those two cases.

This commitment applies regardless of your plan, whether you’re on a free voucher or a paid tier, and it doesn’t expire or change without us telling you first.

3. Who we share information with

We don’t sell your data. We only share it with the providers who help us run FlexVault:

These providers store and transmit data on our behalf under their own terms of service, and the commitment in Section 2 is ours, not theirs.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the security or integrity of the Service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we’ll notify anyone affected. Any successor to FlexVault inherits the commitment in Section 2, not just this policy’s general terms.

4. Data retention

We keep voucher-redemption records (email, username, redemption metadata) for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable stretch afterward for fraud prevention and support. Newsletter addresses stick around until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your data anytime, covered in Section 6 below.

5. Storage location

Project data stored via Tigris is spread globally rather than fixed to one country or region. Using the Service means your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information anytime by reaching us on Discord or at [email protected]. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe. Deleting your account information doesn’t automatically delete project data stored under your workspace, so let us know if you want both gone.

7. Children

The Service isn’t aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

8. Security

We use standard safeguards (rate limiting, bot verification, encrypted transport) to protect your information, but no system is fully secure. Keeping your account credentials confidential is on you. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we’ll notify you without undue delay as required by applicable law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The commitment in Section 2 is an exception: we won’t weaken it retroactively for data you’ve already stored with us. Any material change shows up as a new “Last updated” date above.
